The sport called archery can be used for hunting wild game, or it can be a more competition-oriented sporting event, designed 
to showcase the skills of participants lofting arrows at an archery target, called target archery. While there are all kinds and sized of archery targets, one thing remains constant – there is usually a varying scoring system that rewards the more accurate arrows with a higher score.
The classic archery target that most of us know so well is a stationary circular target of varying diameter and thickness according to various competitive archery governing bodies (FITA rules and GNAS rules, mainly). The standard FITA archery targets are marked with 10 evenly spaced concentric rings, whch are colored, from outside to center, two rings each color, white, black, blue, red and yellow. Scoring for the rings, from white to yellow (center) is 1, 3, 5, 7 & 9 points.
